
Mel is an experienced Clinical Psychologist, CAT (Cognitive Analytic Therapy) Practitioner and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) therapist with a passion for integrating the mind and the body, and working with repeating relationship patterns in therapy. Mel specialises in building trusting relationships with adults who have experienced complicated psychological traumas, as well as those suffering with pain and long-term health conditions, to offer hope in a better future.
In addition to offering one-to-one therapy, Mel enjoys working collaboratively with her colleagues to create innovative team approaches to client care, alongside her experiences in teaching, training and supervising others in psychological approaches. Mel has published her clinical psychology doctoral work and co-authored two book chapters within the area of therapist learning and development. Mel loves to inspire others to believe in themselves, live their best lives and dream big.

Alan is a Clinical Psychologist who is committed to helping people live a full and meaningful life. Alan specialises in working with people who have long-term health conditions such as chronic pain, and is experienced in providing sensitive, compassionate support to people who have experienced complex traumatic events.
When he is not providing individual therapy, Alan enjoys teaching, training, and researching. Alan is a published author in the field of chronic pain and works for a local Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme where he supports the training and development of future healthcare professionals. Whether it is in the therapy room, the lecture theatre, or just in the corridor, Alan loves helping to get the best out of people so that they can reach their potential.

Sonia is an experienced Occupational Therapist, and has specialised in Neurology and Rehabilitation. Through her work in a regional neurosciences centre delivering inpatient and community services, Sonia developed her expertise in managing patients with a variety of neurological conditions including head injury, stroke, spinal injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and CJD, with a special interest in complex presentations. Sonia has particular interest in working with clients with functional neurological disorder, chronic fatigue and chronic pain.
Sonia has a passion for helping people to access activities and maximise their enjoyment from life. She has a specialist interest in facilitating good communication, both with clients and within the interdisciplinary team. Sonia has built a reputation as a peer supporter and mentor and has been trained in leadership and coaching. She has also developed and delivered NVQ training programs to allied health professionals.
Working as an independent OT, Sonia managed an Occupational Therapy lead pain management programme across the UK, predominantly working with clients in the medico-legal field. Sonia has a particular interest and has been trained in managing sleep problems, which is a huge issue for many clients following traumatic events. Sonia considers herself privileged to be able to make a real and positive difference to people’s lives. She takes pride in working creatively with clients to achieve their personal goals, tailoring interventions to their specific wants, needs, support systems and environment, and empowering them to achieve long term success on their terms.

Catherine joined as Administrator in 2017. She has a broad range of experience in a variety of work settings, but what she enjoys most is interacting with people. Catherine is here as your first point of contact, to answer your calls and preliminary queries, and to assist in the smooth running of Trust Psychology.





Margaret is an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist who specialises in working within both hospital and community settings with adult clients who experience chronic pain, neurological conditions - including traumatic brain injuries, brain disorders, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome - spinal injuries and multi-pathological physical problems.
Margaret’s particular interests include helping clients with chronic pain management, neurological disorders, upper limb rehabilitation and orthopaedic injuries, using Mindfulness meditation, relaxation, Behavioural Activation and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Margaret is skilled in conducting holistic assessments and devising individualised treatment to improve clients’ ability to become more active and regain their confidence in doing their own meaningful activities. Margaret is passionate about enabling people to remain in or return to their work, and helping people sleep better to improve overall quality of life.

Jenny is a registered Physiotherapist with 16 years of postgraduate experience, including 11 years of experience as a lead academic in the field of physiotherapy. Jenny has worked in a range of chronic pain settings and has worked within multi-disciplinary teams to optimise outcomes for individuals who live with chronic pain. Jenny has a PhD in a topic (goal setting) that is beneficial for patients who have chronic pain, and she is able to bring this expertise to her clinical practice. Jenny has a strong research background and has published work in the field of chronic pain, pain sciences and psychological approaches to help equip physiotherapists with the much needed theory to help advance their knowledge and understanding on chronic pain.

Chris is a registered Physiotherapist with significant postgraduate experience. Chris worked as lead specialist physiotherapist within a large NHS team whose aim was to empower people with complex chronic pain problems and help them optimise function and mobility.
Chris is currently a member of the Physiotherapy Pain Association (PPA) who have a role in bringing together and providing information for Physiotherapists, with the common interest of managing clients with both acute and long-term pain. Chris is part of a regional North East pain management physiotherapy peer support group, and continues to have an invested interest in pain management physiotherapy practice regionally and nationally.
Chris is passionate about working collaboratively with individuals with chronic pain problems to enable them to build resilience and independence, by targeting and tailoring input to individuals’ personal needs and goals.

Hannah is a Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with adults across the Lifespan, and is motivated and enthusiastic about improving mental health through a person-centred, integrative approach. Common difficulties Hannah often works with include low mood, anxiety, trauma, adjustment to long term health conditions, stress, low self-esteem, sleep difficulties and bereavement.
Hannah’s clinical practice is underpinned by a compassionate approach, drawing on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches to meet the needs of each individual. Her specialist interests are in physical health conditions including pain management, complex trauma and especially the application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Outside of Trust Psychology, Hannah works part time in the NHS within a Community Pain Management service and has experience in organisational and coaching psychology.
